CBT-I: What to Expect When You Start
You Can Choose Between Individual and Group Treatment
Individual CBT-I
You and the therapist will tackle the issue together
Individual CBT-i
Individual CBT-I treatment involves you and your RCC therapist working together to address your insomnia. Together, you will develop and implement an evidenced based effective treatment plan tailored for you.
You will join a therapist and 6 to 8 individuals to treat all of your insomnias
Group CBT-i
Group CBT-I treatment is a well researched and effective alternative to individual treatment. It involves you, along with 5 to 7 group members, being led by a Registered Clinical Counsellor through a series of 8 sessions structured to address the root of your insomnia and implement effective interventions.
Check with your insurance provider to see if individual and or group services provided by a registered clinical counsellor are covered. Some providers only cover individual, but not group treatment. Direct billing of individual sessions are available for Sun Life and Pacific Blue Cross.
